This project is such a fun way to introduce both portraits and collages. I taught the children a little about cubism and Picasso, they chose which out of four half face shapes they wanted for the background. Then there was a pile of different mouths, eyes, noses, ears, eyebrows, etc. (inspired by Picasso's style) for the children to choose from, color how they liked, cut out and glue to create their collaged cubist portraits.
