The children used acrylic paint (they filled in what they did not finish with crayons later) to create these color wheels. The exercise was to pair up the colors in the heart to their complimentary color in the circle surrounding it. The children who made these were five and six years old, kindergarten public school.
Before working on this project, the children had the opportunity to mix primary colors, discover what new colors they made and fill-in their own color wheel. From that, they created a chart sorting warm and cool colors vertically, pairing them with their complementary color horizontally. They used their color wheels and chart to create these paintings and other projects.
